Why We Chose Godot
When we started Slate Fire Games, we knew we needed an engine that could match our creative vision while keeping us agile. After evaluating several options, Godot Engine emerged as the clear winner for our team.
The Power of Open Source
One of the biggest advantages of Godot is its open-source nature. We can dig into the engine code, understand exactly how things work, and even contribute back to the community. This transparency has been invaluable for debugging and optimization.
GDScript: Simple Yet Powerful
GDScript's Python-like syntax means our team can prototype ideas rapidly. What used to take days in other engines now takes hours. The built-in scene system makes it easy to create reusable components that we can mix and match across our projects.
Looking Forward
With Godot 4's improved rendering pipeline and better performance, we're excited to push the boundaries of what's possible in indie game development. Stay tuned for more technical deep-dives!
